Consumer Health Information at the Health Sciences Library
Visit the Patient and Family Health Collection in the Health Sciences Library to find books about health written with the general public in mind. All books can be checked out by anyone with a Virginia driver's license. Visitors may also use computers in the library to find health information online.
Consumer Health Information Online
The National Library of Medicine created MedlinePlus (www.medlineplus.gov) to help you find high-quality health information. The site offers Web pages on health topics in English and Spanish. It also contains a medical dictionary, an encyclopedia, and information about over-the-counter and prescription medicines. Their tutorials explain over 165 procedures and conditions.
