Douglas P. Wagner, Ph.D.

Douglas P. Wagner, PhD, Professor of Health Evaluation Sciences (Health Services Research), teaches the course on Health Care Economics in which he reviews the basic principles of economics most relevant to analyzing changes in the provision of health care, trends in health care delivery, and methods of forecasting future trend including CAM use.

Dr. Wagner's expertise guides those trainees who are interested in learning about cost analysis of selected CAM when compared to conventional therapies. His research interests include severity of illness (hospital case mix) measurement, clinical trial design, medical decision-making, health economics, statistical and econometric methods, and cost/benefit analysis.
